Where do your ideas for books come from?

My heart, books, music, nature, other novels, movies, people I meet, people I see in passing, ships, gowns, hairstyles, animals, life… you name it.  Sometimes a completely chance happenstance inspires a story, or a fascinating detail in a history book, or a stroll with a friend, or even a dream!  Anything and everything gives me ideas for characters, scenes, settings, mysteries, and whole novels.
